Vocal Coaching

Are you preparing a role for an upcoming production or a concert, or do you simply want to dive deep into the layers of possibilities in that great song you love? A passion with working with singers, I seek to synthesize the connection between text, music, and emotion. Need another perspective? I love shining new lights into previously dark corners of music and text, investigating how to make a piece of score yours, and exploring ways to link the nitty gritty stuff like performance practice and language usage to make a seamless and cohesive performance. Specializing in the classical style, I have experience coaching and performing the canonic to contemporary repertoire, from Monteverdi to Mozart to Donizetti to Puccini to Stravinsky to John Adams to Jake Heggie.
